NEDCAR (Netherlands Car) in Born
is the only serial producer of personal cars in
the Netherlands and besides it is one of the most
advanced industrial companies of the country. The
shop floor has more than 400 robots, meaning that
NEDCAR on its own has more than a quarter of the
total robot capacity of the Netherlands. Its work
force is more than 4.000 people and the company
belongs with its turn over to the top 40 companies
of the Netherlands. The actual maximum production
level of NEDCAR is 280.000 cars per year.
The company produces the Volvo S40/V40,
the Mitsubishi Carisma and the Mitsubishi Space
Star and is preparing to produce the new Mercedes
SMART car.

Besides
the company is leading in the so called Z-car project, one
of the biggest common projects in the new alliance between
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and DaimlerChrysler; the models
of this Z-car project will be produced by NEDCAR and total
up to a volume of 250.000 cars per year.
NEDCAR
is one of the first major companies in the Netherlands being
accredited by Lloyd's Register for the new ISO9000:2000
certificate. The certificate was being granted for both
Quality management and environment. The quality system enables
NEDACR to keep its promises to its major worldwide known
customers: MITSUBISHI and DAIMLER-CHRYSLER.
WEBISO
is NEDCAR's backbone to overcome the quality and environmental
challenges of the new SMART car production. In less than
4 months the company realized to set-up a core team centralizing
all related documents and publishing them on their new internal
intranet environment. This team, in collaboration with the
Ockham project team, communicates their know how to other
teams, thus generating a snow ball effect throughout the
organization to realize a quick and smoothless implementation.
